About

Nails change as we age, or after injury, or under medication. They can thicken, lift, split, fungate or simply become hard to reach. A routine appointment keeps them tidy, comfortable in shoes, and — importantly — properly examined.

What's included

Cutting and shaping
Nails cut to length and shape, with sharp corners eased so they don't catch.
Thickened nails
Nails thinned and reduced with a sterile burr — comfortable in shoes again.
Fungal assessment
If a nail looks fungal, I'll explain options — topical, oral via GP, or a sampling kit.
Discoloured nails
Some discolouration is bruising, some is fungal, some is trauma. I'll tell you which.
Aftercare advice
How to keep on top of it between visits — tools, technique, frequency.

Asked often

About nail care

How often should I come?
Every 6–10 weeks for most people. Some come monthly, some annually — we'll find a rhythm that suits you.
Can you treat fungal nails?
Yes — we'll discuss topical options, sampling, and oral therapy via your GP where appropriate.
Will it hurt?
Routine nail care should not hurt. If a nail is painful — for example an ingrowing edge — we'll address that specifically.
