A verruca is a virus (human papilloma virus) and is the same as a wart on your finger. A verruca on the foot is often more difficult to treat and eradicate compared to a wart on the finger due to the thicker skin that can impede treatment.

Initial, conservative management, will often involve removing the overlying callus and advice on initiating a course of home treatment that is readily available from your local pharmacy. In some cases however, home treatment fails. In these cases, I undertake a treatment called verruca needling which involves numbing the verruca area with local anaesthetic and then puncturing the verruca numerous times to initiate an immune response.

There are various factors to consider and this will be discussed in your consultation.
